Forty-five percent of South Pasadena's streets urgently need reconstruction or significant repair; the rest continue to deteriorate without adequate investment. For decades, the city lacked the plan and leadership team needed to address this infrastructure challenge. That has all changed.
The city's new leadership team has developed a sustainable plan that enables the city to pay for street repairs with bond revenue and maintain that investment with annual operating funds. This plan requires passing a bond measure.
City Council voted to place an $80 million street bond measure before South Pasadena voters this November. If approved, the revenue generated by the bond will be invested entirely in South Pasadena streets, sidewalks, and curbs.
South Pasadena Yes on Save Our Streets (SOS) 2026 officially formed to educate our community and rally enough support to reach the two-thirds YES vote required for passage.
YesOnSOS.com will launch soon with background information and a list of community members in support of the bond measure. The committee set a goal of launching the website with 250 endorsers – we hope you will be one of them. A public endorsement from community members like you carries real weight.
If you are willing to put your name behind it, please add your name to the endorsers list via the form below.
Thank you for your consideration. We hope you'll join us in rallying South Pasadena to save our streets.
Warmly,
Yuki Cutcheon, Dean Serwin, Karie Reynolds, Sally Kilby, Margaret Lee, Peter Giulioni, and Barbara Cocks
